9 Success Tips to Boost Employee Motivation, Job Satisfaction, and Employee Morale

Adding some fun and activities makes for happier employees. Happier employees are more motivated and productive. If you can make the workplace fun, positive, and uplifting, that positive energy will spill over into employee motivation and job satisfaction will increase!

1. Celebrate Employees' Birthdays! - Provide a card employees can sign. Bring in a birthday cake and ice cream and have a 30 minute celebration at the end of the lunch period or during a long break. Take the employee out to lunch. Other employees are welcome to come too.

2. Have a Joke, Cartoon or Interesting Fun Story Board for Employees to post their favorites to share with other employees - everyone needs a good laugh! You can establish guidelines to keep it clean and socially acceptable. This can really be something that each employee looks forward to each day.

3. Catch Employees Doing Something Right and Compliment Them on the Spot!

4. Leave Short Notes on Their Desk Thanking Them for Jobs Well Done and Be Specific About Why You Are Thanking Them.

5. Have a Potluck Lunch or Picnic Once a Month! - create that sense of family and bonding! include family, sports, and games for the picnic. Have the picnic at a park so the children have plenty of space to play. Get a baseball game going for the adults!

6. Celebrate Holidays - encourage employees to decorate their cubicles and common areas for the current holiday! This can add a lot of cheer and fun to the workplace. Have a contest for the best decorated, the most unusual decoration, the most fun decoration, etc.
