There are actually 4 different sectors in the overall A+ programme, of which 2 passes are needed for competency in A+. Be aware though that restricting yourself to two out of the 4 subjects available could leave gaps in your knowledge. Try to cover all four - this will give you the edge in the working environment.

CompTIA A+ training programs cover fault-finding and diagnostics - via hands on and remote access, alongside building and fixing and working in antistatic conditions. If you feel it appropriate to add Network+ to your CompTIA A+ training course, you'll additionally be equipped to look after networks, which means you'll be able to command a higher salary.
Most people don't even think to ask about something that can make a profound difference to their results - the way the company actually breaks down and delivers the training materials, and into what particular chunks. Most companies will sell you a program typically taking 1-3 years, and deliver each piece one-by-one as you complete each exam. If you think this sound logical, then consider this: What happens when you don't complete all the sections or exams? Maybe the prescribed order won't suit you? Due to no fault of yours, you mightn't complete everything fast enough and therefore not end up with all the modules.
For future safety and flexibility, most students now choose to make sure that every element of their training is posted to them in one go, with nothing held back. You can then decide in which order and at what speed you want to work.
Every program under consideration really needs to work up to a widely recognised exam as an end-result - definitely not some 'in-house' diploma - fit only for filing away and forgetting. The top IT companies such as Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco or CompTIA all have globally acknowledged skills programmes. Huge conglomerates such as these will ensure your employability.
Finding your first job in the industry is often made easier with the help of a Job Placement Assistance service. The need for this feature can be bigged up out of proportion though - it isn't unusual for eager sales people to make too much of it. At the end of the day, the huge shortage of staff in the UK is what will make you attractive to employers.
You would ideally have advice and support about your CV and interviews though; additionally, we would recommend any student to work on polishing up their CV as soon as training commences - don't wait for when you're ready to start work. Having the possibility of an interview is more than not being regarded at all. A decent number of junior support jobs are got by people (who've only just left first base.) The most reliable organisations to help you land that job are normally specialised and independent recruitment consultants. Because they get paid commission to place you, they'll work that much harder to get a result.
A good number of trainees, apparently, spend evenings and weekends on their training and studies (sometimes for years), and just give up when it comes to finding the right position. Market yourself... Make an effort to get in front of employers. Don't think a job's just going to jump out in front of you.
Those that are drawn to this type of work often have a very practical outlook on work, and don't really enjoy classrooms, and slogging through piles of books. If you identify with this, try the newer style of interactive study, with on-screen demonstrations and labs. Research over recent years has consistently shown that connecting physically with our study, is much more conducive to long-term memory.
Locate a program where you'll get a host of DVD-ROM's - you'll start with videos of instructor demonstrations, and then have the opportunity to use virtual lab's to practice your new skills. It would be silly not to view some of the typical study materials provided before you sign the purchase order. The minimum you should expect would be videoed instructor demonstrations and interactive audio-visual sections with practice modules.
It's unwise to select online only courseware. With highly variable reliability and quality from most broadband providers, you should always obtain actual CD or DVD ROM's.
