Adobe Dreamweaver is the starting point of study for almost all web designers. It's reputed to be the favourite environment for web development on the planet. In order to use Dreamweaver commercially as a web designer, a full understanding of the entire Adobe Web Creative Suite (including Flash and Action Script) is without doubt a bonus. Having such skills means, you have the choice to become either an ACP (Adobe Certified Professional) or an ACE (Adobe Certified Expert).

Knowing how to build the website is just the start. Driving traffic, maintaining content and some programming skills are the next things. Look for training programmes that also contain modules to cover these skills maybe PHP, HTML, and MySQL, along with SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and E-Commerce skills.
Being a part of the leading edge of new technology is as thrilling as it comes. You become one of a team of people defining the world to come. It's a common misapprehension that the revolution in technology that's been a familiar part of our recent lives is cooling down. There is no truth in this at all. Terrific advances are ahead of us, and the internet in particular will become an increasingly dominant part of our lives.
Wages in the IT sector aren't to be ignored moreover - the average salary across the UK for the usual man or woman in IT is considerably greater than the national average. It's a good bet that you'll receive quite a bit more than you would in most other jobs. Because the IT market sector is still developing at an unprecedented rate, it's predictable that the requirement for well trained and qualified IT technicians will remain buoyant for quite some time to come.
At the top of your shopping list for a training program should be full 24x7 support through dedicated instructors and mentors. So many companies we come across will only offer a basic 9am till 6pm support period (maybe later on certain days) with very little availability over the weekend. Locate training schools where you can access help at any time of day or night (no matter if it's in the middle of the night on a weekend!) You want direct access to tutors, and not a call-centre that will take messages so you're consistently being held in a queue for a call-back during office hours.
The best training colleges provide a web-based 24x7 facility pulling in several support offices from around the world. You will have an easy to use environment that switches seamlessly to the best choice of centres at any time of day or night: Support available as-and-when you want it. If you accept anything less than support round-the-clock, you'll end up kicking yourself. You might not want to use the service in the middle of the night, but what about weekends, early mornings or late evenings.
Most people don't even think to ask about a vitally important element - how their company actually breaks down and delivers the training materials, and into how many bits. Typically, you will purchase a course requiring 1-3 years study and receive a module at a time. This may seem sensible until you think about these factors: It's not unusual for trainees to realise that their training company's 'standard' path of training isn't the easiest way for them. It's often the case that a different order of study is more expedient. Could it cause problems if you don't get everything done in the allotted time?
Put simply, the best option is to have their ideal 'order' of training laid out, but get everything up-front. Meaning you've got it all should you not complete it as fast as they'd like.
Many trainers offer a Job Placement Assistance facility, designed to steer you into your first job. Sometimes, too much is made of this feature, because it's really not that difficult for any motivated and trained individual to get a job in the IT environment - as employers are keen to find appropriately well trained people.
Work on polishing up your CV right away however (advice can be sought on this via your provider). Don't procrastinate and leave it until you've qualified. Being considered a 'maybe' is better than being rejected. Many junior jobs are offered to trainees in the early stages of their course. The most efficient companies to help you land that job are most often specialist independent regional recruitment consultancies. Because they make their money when they've found you a job, they have the necessary incentive to try that bit harder.
In a nutshell, if you put as much hard work into landing your first job as into training, you won't find it too challenging. A number of people strangely invest a great deal of time on their learning program and then just stop once they've got certified and seem to suppose that interviewers know they're there.
