Schools – Evolving Every Year!

Childhood is the best part in everybody’s life, a stage where everything is alright so long as you don’t end up bringing down the house. There have been many books where writers have mused over the experiences of their long gone childhood, evoking examples and funny incidents that serve as a testimony for the innocence of it all. This only goes down too well with the readers too, as nothing on this Earth can be better than the guiltless attitude that everyone has had as a child, where all the things that ever mattered were food, play and a cozy bed beside your parents. As such, despite the confusion and the joy of growing up, it is the schooling you receive as a child that will remain as one of the best memories in everyone’s life, for it is at the school that we learn and unlearn a lot of things which later on go on to become the lessons of a lifetime.

Since the first of the open schools where the great Sages of the ancient times taught their disciples scriptures and holy texts, schools have come a very long way indeed, with more sophistication and precision in their approach. There was a time when home schooling was very common, where established and educated men taught the children of wealthy noblemen. Though that practice still continues in some remote parts of the world, it is the residential schools that have been hogging the limelight of late, with their self-proclaimed 'International’ standards. Schools have most definitely evolved over the years, just like the people as well, catering to a wide variety of requirements to make sure that the students get the best of everything, all at a price which is agreeably a little too high.

Though a lot of schools with high standards have mushroomed all over the world, they have become more of a hindrance and are far from being helpful, confusing children and parents alike with the services they offer. This can be quite annoying for anyone, not being able to make up your mind about the school you would want your children to attend. While Convents and Missionary schools still manage to attract students effortlessly, it is the more commercialized institutions that have been giving parents the creeps, with their goal oriented approach to everything, including things that are as mundane as the morning breakfast.

Most of the residential schools have made a business out of education, with their rigid rules and targets that can put the average BPO to shame. While these stiff rules might sound impressive, they affect the children in unimaginable ways, leading to nervous breakdowns and other strange maladies that defeat the whole purpose of having your child in the institution in question in the first place. A few schools that have promised international standards also have found themselves in the spotlight for driving students beyond their limits to achieve higher grades and improve their performance, which in turn helps the institute build its image, while destroying the spirit of your child. Since that happens to be the worst of all possibilities, it is really important that one understand that grades are not the only ones that matter in life, as there is much more to life than just topping the merit charts throughout schooling.

Nonetheless, there are a few schools that concentrate on the overall development of your child, without zeroing in on only one aspect. It is the institutions like these that have brought about a revolutionary change in the structure of schooling, much to the relief of many parents and children alike. We now have many international schools that focus on building up the confidence and attitude of children, besides concentrating on the various areas of development. This structured approach is any day better than the do or die situations that some schools put the students in, goading them to take extreme steps in order to put an end to all the relentless agony of having to obtain the highest possible grades. If you are looking forward to having your child admitted into the best of schools, make sure that you have the best interests of your child at heart, and not the size of the campus or its popularity in the market.
