The Royal Court Theatre has had a fantastic 2009. The venue in London’s Sloane Square is, of course, a world famous theatre renowned for producing new writing. This year’s productions have regularly been selling out. 2010 looks set to sell ever more theatre tickets, especially as their shows get West End transfers.

'Jerusalem’ is a very funny play that has a lot to say about the state of England, in particular the West Country. The Times described it as “bold, ebullient and hilarious.” It is written by Jez Butterworth and directed by the Royal Court’s previous artistic director Ian Rickson. It will run at the Apollo Theatre from 28 January 2010 until 24 April. Theatre tickets are currently on sale. It stars Mark Rylance and Mackenzie Crook.
Rylance was previously artistic director of Shakespeare’s Globe where he appeared in countless productions. As well as playing Hamlet and Richard II, he even played Olivia in 'Twelfth Night’ and Cleopatra. His other previous theatre also includes 'The Gamblers’ at the Tricycle, 'True West’ at the Donmar Warehouse and 'Much Ado About Nothing’ in the West End. His films have included 'Prospero’s Books’ and 'Angels and Insects.’ Television work includes playing William Blake in 'In Lambeth’ and David Kelly in 'The Government Inspector.’
Mackenzie Crook is best known to most people as Gareth in 'The Office.’ He has also appeared on our television screens in 'Demons’, 'Skins’ and 'Merlin.’ His films include the forthcoming blockbuster from Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, 'The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.’ Previous big screen appearances include the last two Pirates of the Caribbean films and 'Neverland.’ His previous theatre includes 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ in the West End.
