I learned recently in my experience that to sell gold jewelry is unlike selling anything else. Over the course of my lifetime I have accumulated quite a bit of jewelry as gifts from family, old flings, trips overseas, and from my wonderful husband. While not all of this jewelry was real or made from genuine gold or silver, I knew that great deal of it was. My items were not particularly special in that the styles have changed over the years and they have also been scratched from use. At first I was disheartened because I thought I wouldn’t be able to get any money for my diamonds. Two days after I packaged and shipped my rings, bracelets, chains, earrings and diamond jewelry off, I received two emails: one stating that the package was received and another a short while later stating that a quote was prepared. Two days following this, I had cashed my check and was already sharing the happy news with my family and friends!
